DIU_CYBERCON 2025 Unites Bangladesh’s Cybersecurity Talent

Daffodil International University (DIU) hosted DIU_CYBERCON 2025, a national level cybersecurity event that gathered students, professionals, and experts from Bangladesh. Organized by the Cyber Security Club (CSC) of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department, it took place at Daffodil Smart City in Ashulia, Dhaka, and included workshops, competitions, discussions, and celebrations.

It aimed to raise cybersecurity awareness, enhance skills, and create a robust national community to protect Bangladesh’s digital future.

Oracle Issues 943 Security Patches, Including Critical WebLogic Flaw

The 6-hour National Capture the Flag (CTF) competition was the highlight of DIU_CYBERCON 2025. Out of 204 registered teams in the preliminary round, 35 finalists made it to the onsite national final at DIU. They competed in categories like cryptography, web exploitation, reverse engineering, pwn, OSINT, and forensics, displaying remarkable talent and teamwork.

A powerful panel discussion titled “Hacking the Future: Cloud Security Innovations and Cybersecurity Career Pathways” was also held at Daffodil International University. The session featured esteemed industry professionals who shared insights on cloud security, digital transformation, and career opportunities in cybersecurity, distinguished panelists are Dr. Mohammed Nadir Bin Ali, President, ISOC Bangladesh Chapter, N. M. I. Raisul Bari, CISA, CEH, IT Security Lead, IPDC Finance PLC, Rashedul Islam, Head of Information Systems Audit, Eastern Bank PLC and Md. Faisal Hossain, Group CTO, Bangladesh Finance PLC moderated by Professor Dr. Fernaz Narin Nur, Department of CSE, DIU.

The event included a cultural performance celebrating innovation, followed by the Prize Giving & Closing Ceremony to honor the National CTF 2025 winners and recognize supporters.

Mr. Dewan Mamun Raza, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, and Convener of Cyber Security Club said, “DIU_CYBERCON 2025 embodies our vision of uniting learners, leaders, and innovators to build a stronger cybersecurity ecosystem in Bangladesh. This platform inspires young minds to protect the nation’s digital future.”
