CID formed a 8-member CIRT team

CID computer incident response team (CID-CIRT) has been formed to counter cyber attacks and respond to cyber incidents at the earliest.

The eight-member team includes the police as well as project director and incident handlers from BGD e-Gov CIRT. The members are, Special Superintendent of Police Shibli Kaiser, Inspector of Police (Unarmed) Md. Shahinul Islam, Inspector of Police (Unarmed) Md. Rabiul Islam, SI (Unarmed) Shakhawat Hossain, SI Md. Al Imam, SI Sheikh Asib Islam, Project Director, CIRT Saiful Islam Khan and Incident handler of BGD E-Gov CIRT Maksudul Alam.

Note, if any member of the said team is transferred elsewhere, the concerned branch will nominate a new equivalent officer instead. All members of this CID CIRT will temporarily perform necessary duties including coordination in the field of computer incident response in addition to their regular duties. Cyber Police Center (CPC), CID, Dhaka will act as coordinator.

CID media wing additional police superintendent, Azad Rahman told the team is formed specially to monitor and taking steps keeping safe the digital space.

After a data leak issue, ICT ministry told every critical information infrastructure (CII) institutions to make individual CIRT. Till now 7 more institutions make their CIRT.
