Apple fixed multiple vulnerabilities in iOS and macOS

Apple released security updates for iOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, watchOS, and Safari to fix many vulnerabilities. The IT giant addressed numerous security vulnerabilities, such as authentication and policy bypasses, information disclosure, denial-of-service (DoS) issues, and bugs leading to memory leaks, unexpected application termination, or system shutdown, by releasing iOS 17.6 and iPadOS 17.6.

There are several vulnerabilities that affect various components of Apple’s system. These vulnerabilities have an impact on AppleMobileFileIntegrity, Kernel, WebKit, CoreGraphics, CoreMedia, dyld, Family Sharing, ImageIO, libxpc, Phone, Phone Storage, Sandbox, Shortcuts, Siri, and VoiceOver.

Apple released iOS 16.7.9 and iPadOS 16.7.9 updates to fix security issues in older iPhone and iPad devices. They also fixed nine vulnerabilities in Safari with the release of version 17.6.

The company has not revealed if any of the addressed vulnerabilities is being exploited in the wild.

Additional information on the vulnerabilities fixed in the latest release are available on Apple’s security releases page.

The company has launched the first beta version of iOS 15.1 for developers, designed for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The update has new Apple Intelligence features such as Writing Tools, Mail and notifications improvements, and Photos enhancements.

“Once you update to iOS 18.1, you can request access to Apple Intelligence by going to Settings, tapping on the new Apple Intelligence menu, then tapping on “Join the waitlist.” You’ll receive a push notification once you have been granted access to the Apple Intelligence beta.” reported the website 9to5mac.com.
