Starlink satellite downlink speed up to 500 Mbps in Bangladesh: MD BSCL

Managing Director of Bangladesh Satellite Company Ltd Dr. Shahjahan Mahmud said that the effectiveness of Starlink devices is being tested by placing them on the roof of BSCA. SpaceX officials showed samples of Starlink’s internet and download speeds. It reached about 500 Mbps in the morning.

SpaceX-ICT division meeting: pilot program will start soon

Meanwhile, Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that Star Link Internet is being down-linked subject to experimental approval. He said that BTRC has given tentative approval to test the device. We are testing the functionality of devices at various location. Then we will decide whether we will use it or not.

Earlier, ICT State Minister Zunayted Ahmed Palak said that the internet speed and connection was stable at 150 Mbps during the device’s test by placing the antenna on the roof of the ICT division.

After 3 months of testing, the ICT division may have an agreement with Starlink on how to use the internet in education, research and health.

SpaceX currently provides Internet services to more than 70 countries through approximately 4,519 satellites in orbit.
