Spooked customers flocked to X, complaining they couldn’t log into their accounts.
“This is a joke. My account shows £00.00,” one user wrote on Elon Musk’s social network.
After more than two hours, Lloyds, with over 22 million users, posted a message saying that “Internet Banking and our app are back to normal. We’re sorry some of our customers had issues viewing transactions earlier today.”
Interestingly, another bank also faced difficulties on the same day.
“We’re aware that some customers are having issues with our mobile banking app and internet banking service this morning with customers not being able to view their transactions,” Virgin Money wrote on X.
However, there’s no indication that the two outages are linked.
UK media reports that British customers have had online banking problems three times in less than three months.
