India is likely to host Meta’s first data centre

Meta is likely to establish its first data center in India at the Reliance Industries campus in Chennai. This move will enable the company to process user-generated content from its popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp locally as reported by Economictimes.

Mark Zuckerberg’s company made a deal with RIL after discussing it at Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar in early March, a source said.

The 10-acre MAA10 campus in Chennai’s Ambattur Industrial Estate is a joint venture between Brookfield Asset Management, Reliance Industries, and Digital Realty. It has a capacity of up to 100 MW for IT load.
