Cloudflare Report
Bangladesh Ranked #1 in Global DDoS Attack Traffic Source

Cloudflare’s Q4 2025 report shows that Bangladesh has become the largest source of DDoS attacks, moving up two spots from the previous quarter. The report indicates a trend of increased DDoS traffic originating from Asia and South America, primarily due to compromised infrastructure, not the location of the attackers.

After Bangladesh, Ecuador and Indonesia took the second and third spots, respectively. Argentina moved up 20 places to fourth, showing a significant increase. Cloudflare observed that such rapid changes often signal newly weaponized botnets, exploited hosting services, or insecure IoT devices used for large-scale attacks.

The report indicates a rise in DDoS attacks from Hong Kong, Ukraine, Taiwan, and Peru, which all showed significant growth compared to the previous quarter. Singapore’s activity stayed the same, while Vietnam experienced a slight decrease. Overall, this highlights a continuing global issue, with attackers exploiting unsecured systems extensively.

In 2024, Cloudflare blocked about 21.3 million DDoS attacks, a 53% increase from 2023, averaging 4,870 attacks per hour. In Q4, over 420 attacks were hyper-volumetric, surpassing 1 billion packets per second and 1 Tbps, with a 1,885% rise in attacks over 1 Tbps compared to the previous quarter. During the Halloween week of 2024, Cloudflare blocked a record 5.6 Tbps DDoS attack.
