A special alert has been issued at all international and domestic airports in Bangladesh due to the threat of cyber attacks. At the same time, 10 special instructions have been given to the airports.
A letter of this instruction, signed by Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Mehboob Khan, Member (Planning and Operations) of the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA), was sent to all airport heads and senior civil aviation officials of the country on Thursday (October 9).

The letter said that cyber attacks have recently targeted at various airports around the world. Everyone must be vigilant to ensure smooth air transport operations in Bangladesh. For this, it is strongly recommended to use strong passwords, refrain from suspicious emails and links, keep software and antivirus updated regularly, do not use pirated software, do not install personal apps on official devices and use multi-factor authentication (MFA).
If any cybersecurity issue arises, it is instructed to inform the CAAB Cert Team, IT Department, and National Cyber ​​Incident Response on the issue.
Recently, Several European airports were experiencing flight delays and cancellations due to a cyber-attack on a check-in and boarding systems service provider. The attack has made automated systems unusable, forcing only manual check-in and boarding, says Brussels Airport.
Heathrow and Berlin airports reported that the attack disrupted flights, advising passengers to check with airlines before going to the airport on Saturday.
