The name of Janata Bank has changed. The new name is ‘Janata Bank PLC’. The Banking Regulations and Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank has informed this information in a circular on Tuesday (August 8). It is said that, as per the provisions of Section 11A(a) of the Companies Act, 1994, the name of ‘Janata Bank Limited’ has been changed to ‘Janata Bank PLC’ from August 8.

Bangladesh Bank has informed that the name of the Scheduled ‘Janata Bank Limited’ has been changed to ‘Janata Bank PLC’ from August 8, under the authority given in Section 37 (2) (C) of the Bangladesh Bank Order, 1972 (President’s Order No. 127 of 1972).
