F5 plans to acquire CalypsoAI, which offers adaptive AI security solutions. CalypsoAI’s technology will be added to F5’s Application Delivery and Security Platform (ADSP).
CalypsoAI, established in 2018, provides real-time protection for AI applications against threats like prompt injection and jailbreaking. Their platform offers defense, red teaming, and data security for businesses using generative AI. This year, they won second place in the RSAC Conference’s Innovation Sandbox for their prompt firewall technology.

F5 aims to enhance ADSP with CalypsoAI features to create advanced firewalls and solutions for securing AI models and data flows. Traditional options “can’t keep up,” stated F5’s CEO François Locoh-Donou.
“AI is redefining enterprise architecture — and the attack surface companies must defend,” he said. “The addition of CalypsoAI will give enterprises the confidence to innovate faster and better protect critical data as they rely on F5 to deliver and secure apps, APIs, and AI models across their environment.”
F5 aims to help enterprises maintain control over AI models and data by leveraging CalypsoAI’s security features for enhanced flexibility and trust.
F5 is set to acquire all shares of CalypsoAI for $180 million. The deal is pending usual closing conditions and is expected to finalize in F5’s fourth fiscal year 2025, ending on Sept. 30.
