Hacker offers to sell 60 million France mobile number dataset

Threat actor dubbed “D3f4c3rX” offers to sell a huge amount (60 million) of mobile number dataset from France in a forum. The mammoth dataset contains 160,000,000+ “verified mobile numbers, professionally processed and categorized by network operator.”

According to the claim of the threat actor’s post, the database includes:

The dataset is priced for $20, 000 and threat actor kept “Telegram @ByteCreeper” for contact.

This database is sold as “Premium France Mobile Numbers – Ready for Marketing, SMS, HLR & Telecom Use,” targeting SMS marketing, HLR validation, fraud analysis, and data resellers.

If the claim is true, selling a large database of mobile numbers raises serious privacy issues under GDPR and could lead to spam, phishing, and social engineering attacks.
