Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor resigned

Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Kazi Saidur Rahman resigned on the second day of opening office after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government. On Wednesday (August 7) ​​he resigned handing over the responsibility to Executive Director-1.

Kazi Saidur Rahman became the Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank on 22 November 2020. As Deputy Governor, he is responsible for Bangladesh Bank Training Academy, Credit Information Bureau, Credit Management Department, two Banking Inspection Departments, Currency Management Department, Financial Integrity and Customer Service Department, Foreign Exchange Investment Department, Human Resources Department and Security Management Department, in addition to Foreign Reserve Management Department.

Before being appointed as Deputy Governor, Kazi Saidur Rahman was the Executive Director-1 of Bangladesh Bank and was in charge of forex reserve and treasury management, foreign exchange inspection department, housing fund and the secretary post of Bangladesh Bank Board of Directors.
Previously, as Executive Director, he was under the supervision of Bank Inspection Department, Foreign Exchange Investment Department, Financial Stability Department, Financial Sector Support and Strategic Planning Department along with Bogra office of Bangladesh Bank.

He obtained an M.Com degree with B.Com (Hons) in Accountancy from the Faculty of Commerce, University of Dhaka. He joined Bangladesh Bank as Assistant Director (General) in 1988. In addition, he served with competence and reputation as the General Manager of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, ICB Islami Bank Limited, National Bank Limited and the Board of Directors of state-owned Janata Bank, Agrani Bank and Sonali Bank Limited as Executive Director respectively.

He received Gold Medal in ‘Bangladesh Bank Employees Recognition Award-2008’ in recognition of outstanding achievement and creative work in Bangladesh Bank. He was born on January 1, 1963 in a noble Muslim family of Madaripur Sadar Upazila. He is the father of three daughters in personal life. He is an outstanding athlete.
