“Technical glitch” in BTCL server, users facing problems

Mir Mohammad Morshed, GM of PR and Marketing at BTCL said, For technical glitch .bd domain users faced problem while browsing. We are working on it soon it will be ok.

The .bd with two others domain servers controlled by Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL) recently had an error. This caused users to be unable to access any government-private websites controlled by these domain servers.

Websites with the domains “.gov.bd”, “.bangla”, and “.com.bd” are controlled from BTCL’s servers. This includes most ministry websites and private websites like Daraz, and most of gov. sites. Users are unable to access these websites. Event BTCL own site is unreachable.

Mir Mohammad Morshed said shortly we will circulate a press brief detailing the issues. There are nearly 40,000 government and private sites registered under the .bd domain managed by Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Ltd (BTCL)

In 2020, there was another server glitch due to an error in dot gov dot bd (.gov.bd) domain servers after 4:30om on Thursday and it continued for several hours resulting The websites of all government ministries and organisations were down.
