Wrong NID in CIB of bank, prompt correction order

Many customers have entered National Identity Card (NID) information wrongly in the Bank’s Credit Information Bureau (CIB). As a result, they are getting exemption from default even if they do not repay the loan regularly. In such a situation, the central bank has directed to correct the wrong NID quickly.

The Credit Information Bureau of Bangladesh Bank recently issued such a letter to the chief executives and managing directors of banks and non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs) operating in the country.

Oracle refutes breach after hacker claims 6 million data theft

The letter asks to correct the NIDs which are not verified by entering the NID list in the credit information bureau’s dashboard. In the instructions given in this regard on October 11, it has been asked to revise the NID within 7 days and inform the CIB.
