Attackers disguise themselves as hotels and reach out to customers using fraudulent booking websites, pressuring them to verify their credit card details again.
According to a report by Trend Micro, there is a growing trend among ransomware attackers to target small businesses rather than adopting a broader focus. It has been discovered that there has been a significant increase of 47% in the number of individuals falling prey to this specific form of attack. During the first half of 2023, small businesses comprising up to 200 employees accounted for a staggering 57% of the victims targeted by the notorious LockBit gang.
