A seminar on “Cyber Awareness” was held in Khulna

A seminar on “Cyber Awareness” was held on Saturday (October 21) at Shahid Altaf Auditorium of Nagar Bhaban of Khulna City Corporation. The day-long seminar was organized by Digital Security Agency (proposed National Cyber Security Agency), Department of Information and Communication Technology in collaboration with Khulna City Corporation.

Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khalek was present as the chief guest in the seminar and Khulna City Corporation Chief Executive Officer (Joint Secretary) Mr. Laskar Tajul Islam presided.

Digital Security Agency Director General Abu Sayed Md. Kamruzzaman NDC presented the main article in the seminar. Prof. Dr. Kazi Md Rakibul Alam was present as a speaker, Department of CSE, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and International Children’s Peace Award 2020 winner and Founder President of Cyber Teens Foundation Saadat Rahman.

Khulna City Corporation officials, DSA officials, Khulna District ICT Directorate officials and Khulna Press Club president, secretary and many others were also present in the seminar.

The chief guest of the seminar highlighted the various initiatives of the Prime Minister in building a smart Bangladesh and asked everyone to be cyber aware and work together to prevent rumor’s, false information and cyber crimes to build a sustainable smart Bangladesh.

In the original article, the Director General of DSA outlined the requirements of the newly passed Cyber Security Act, 2023 and various other issues. Also highlighted various activities and future plans of Digital Security Agency (proposed National Cyber Security Agency).

President of the seminar Mr. Laskar Tajul Islam emphasized the importance of safe internet usage to the employees of City Corporation and to the parents to be cyber conscious.

Participants in the seminar presented various questions related to safe internet use and cyber security to the children and students. Later, the keynote speakers, discussants and DSA officials answered the questions.

On the other hand, on Friday (October 20), another seminar was organized by DSA at Military Collegiate School, Phultala on ‘Prevention of rumor’s, cyberbullying and cybercrime’.

School students, teachers and DSA officials participated in the seminar. Brigadier General Mohammad Salman Ibn A Rauf, PSC, Principal of Military Collegiate School was present as the chief guest in the seminar and Tasneem Jahan, Upazila Executive Officer, Fultala, Khulna presided.
