Oracle Corp announced on Wednesday that it will add generative AI features to its human resources software. The new features will help businesses draft job descriptions and employee performance goals, among other tasks.
Generative AI systems like ChatGPT have become popular in recent years, but some businesses have been hesitant to adopt them because they can generate untrue facts or unsettling statements. Oracle’s AI assistant will be implemented in the form of a button, rather than a chatbot, to ensure that the results are accurate and safe.

The text generated by the AI assistant will still need to be approved by a human, but it is expected to save businesses time and effort by providing a starting point for these important tasks. The new features are expected to be rolled out by the end of this year.
In the future, Oracle plans to use AI for more complex human resources tasks, such as writing job listings that comply with local regulations in different markets. “Generative AI has the potential to drastically reduce the time it takes to make decisions and implement them,” said Guy Waterman, vice president of people analytics and human capital management technology and innovation at Oracle.
