As online education has become convenient for many during the Covid pandemic, many have started studying online courses. OpenAI, the developer of ChatGPT, now offers a course on prompt engineering. Apart from OpenAI, Coursera is also teaching this prompt engineering to many people. If the creator of ChatGPT offers a prompt engineering course, there is no question about its credibility. OpenAI is offering a completely free prompt engineering course for developers, which developers can learn from the DeepLearning.AI website. The course will be taught by Issa Fulford of OpenAI and DeepLearning.AI founder Andrew Ng, a popular computer scientist who has previously worked with Google and Baidu on AI operations.

The course will take very little time to learn, just one hour. The main objective of the course is to teach the best practices of prompt engineering. This course is designed for developers. People who have no idea about AI can also learn this course. But for that a little knowledge of Python is required.

Coursera’s prompt engineering course

Not just developers. Coursera is also offering courses on ChatGPT and Prompt Engineering for common people. Anyone can access the study material of the course completely free by visiting this website. For that you have to click on ‘Enroll Now’ option. But you have to spend some money for the certification. In India that cost figure is Rs 2,000.
Here you will be given video lectures. The more detailed you can prompt chatgpt, the more topics will be taught. However, how quickly you can complete the course depends on how much time you spend learning prompt engineering. Along with that, there are grand assignments, assessments, which will test how much, what have you learned?

What is prompt engineering?

Simply put, prompt engineering is how well and correctly you can prompt an AI Chatbot to get the right result. That is, the instructions you give to the artificial intelligence based chatbot and based on how accurate the results that chatbots like ChatGPT will show, a prompt engineer does the work.
A prompt engineer takes care of understanding how an AI Chatbot works, what it can and cannot do, how to leverage its strengths to get effective prompts.
