Instability started in Bangladesh Bank from today morning. Two deputy governors of Bangladesh Bank resigned under pressure from employees. In response to the questions of the journalists in this context, Mazbaul Haque said, to whom did they give their resignation letter-the government appointed them; If you want to give resignation letter, you have to give it to the government. They cannot give resignation letter to anyone else.

Regarding the governor, Mazbaul Haque said, the governor is on leave; Now the Deputy Governors will carry out the duties.

Apart from this, the employees of Bangladesh Bank today raised various demands to the administrative authorities, such as full autonomy, pay scale, stop undue government interference etc.

In the absence of the Governor, the Deputy Governors can take the decisions of the Governor in their respective cases. But as the employees demanded the resignation of the deputy governors, they tendered their resignations in white paper. Apart from this, what will happen if it takes more time to form the interim government – in response to the question of the journalists, Mazbaul Haque said that there are two types of work in Bangladesh banks; First, daily activities; Second, policy decisions.

Day-to-day activities can be carried out by departmental heads. But major policy decisions do not take place without the government. Now basically the daily activities will continue.

In the press conference, the journalists wanted to know about the seven banks owned by S Alam Group. They said that these seven banks have a current account deficit. It can be seen that there is no precedent anywhere in the world that a bank can run with a current account deficit. Bank authority have done this; Is autonomy possible for you in this reality?

In response, Mazbaul Haque said that these things now depend on the interim government. On the instructions they will give. We have talked about legal reforms; Those who demanded their resignations today have been tasked with finding loopholes in the law.
