A post on a Telegram channel said that the Arab National Bank (ANB), one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest financial institutions, was targeted by a threat actor called SN_BLACKMETA.
The attack targeted the bank’s infrastructure, as claimed by the threat actor. They said it was part of a larger campaign against Saudi Arabia’s financial sector. Despite the Kingdom’s efforts to invest in cybersecurity measures like firewalls, web application firewalls (WAFs), and DDoS protection, the attack still occurred. According to the threat actor, they are able to bypass these defenses effortlessly.
According to dailydarkweb, the attacks affected many of ANB’s online services, including login access, account management, transaction history, and payment transfers. The bank’s mobile app was also nonfunctional during the attack.
